Eh, I mean they look like tourism videos. Of course they are going to show the interesting stuff to attract visitors and money. If you made a movie about something would you show all the bad or boring stuff? Plus, what towns in America don't have Wal-Marts or 7-11's? The only ones I can think of a rich ones like Waterford, Middleburg, or Martha's Vineyard or something.
Yeah, I know, and there are beautiful downtowns and things of worth and interest. It's more that Purcellville has a couple streets worth of it while the rest is being swallowed by Wegmans. And for Leesburg it's that most of everyone's time is spent outside of the downtown or just passing through with 3/4 of the population waiting at stoplights and in parking lots outside of the town. I think Bethany's post about the 7-11 does a good job showing love for a commercial entity as a part of a community rather than dominating it.
